TEFAF Online's strategy of asking its 280 galleries each to show just one work has paid off hansomely for some. Di Donna Galleries sold its "Interior with a Woman Standing" (1913), a trademark light-filled painting by the Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi, for about $5m. The artwork was bought for $700,000 at Sotheby's in 2005, since when the Danish artist's work has been increasingly appreciated, by museums sa well as private buyers. 

"Focusing on just one work meant we could put a lot of effort into it, which was a good trigger for this sale," says gallery founder Emmanuel Di Donna. He was among several exhibitors who included a video on their virtual booth...
